Check your unit for any  potential lead hazards which  includes 

  • Chipped, deteriorating, or peeling paint anywhere inside or outside of the home which includes basement,attic and garage
  • Bare, or exposed, soil
  • Paint chips
  • Work material 
  •  Visible dust on impact friction surfaces (windows ,window sills, floors

environmental cleaning is suggested for units)


If your property has any evidence of hazards, you must remediate lead hazards prior to scheduling a lead safe clearance examination, and getting a Lead Safe Certification.

 

If you are unsure if your unit will pass you can  can schedule a lead hazard visual for your property


If your property is free from all listed possible lead hazards you can schedule appointment

VISUAL INSPECTION

 

 During a visual assessment we will be looking for the following

  1. Chipped, deteriorating, or peeling paint anywhere inside or outside of the home.  You must stabilize deteriorated paint.
  2. Bare or exposed soil
  3. A home with visible dust on impact friction surfaces
  4.  Paint chips 

 If the property fails the visual lead test we are not permitted continue assessment

(PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR UNIT IS NOT FREE OF LEAD HAZARDS YOUR DEPOSIT IS NON REFUNDABLE AND YOU WILL RECIEVE A LEAD HAZARD REPORT )

DUST WIPE SAMPLES

APPLY FOR REIMBURSEMENT

 

If unit passes visual assessment dust wipes are collected from impact friction surfaces and sent to a accredited lab. l

Lead dust wipe test involves using specialized wipes to collect dust samples from surfaces, which are then sent to a laboratory for analysis to determine the presence and concentration of lead

Lab results take about 7 business days standard for results

 Once we received dust wipes that pass laboratory analysis we will complete the lead assessment report within 3 business days 

Your report will be sent to you and submitted to building and housing 

The city will review the report and give approval of lead  certification

Once you receive your lead certification from the city you can apply for a reimbursement in the city of Cleveland

 Rental property owners who have obtained their lead safe certification from the City of Cleveland AND did not receive a grant from CHN Housing Partners, or another Lead Safe Home Fund Grant Administrator, during the same certification cycle.

Rental property owners can qualify for up to 12 incentive awards per zip code, and up to 50 maximum across all City of Cleveland zip codes

We help you to apply for the rebate of $750 per unit
